Let see how to start the process....

First of all before you want to start renovating your OWN house..... you have to apply for a permit.

Without THE permit you renovation will be considered ILLEGAL = Penyambungan HARAM !! You do not want to live in a HARAM house , do you. ( A Harem ... may be... * winks*) All illegal extension can be torn down by the MPKT ( Majlis Perbandaran kerajaan Tempatan.)

So, I went to MBSA to apply for the extension. Before that , make sure you bring along your original plan and the CF. The original plan is because it determines whether your house can use the "Standard plan" or not.

Pendek cerita.. bende tu penting pasal..... like my case...

While waiting for my number.. i overheard the MBSA girl explained to the "client" she was attending....

" Akak boleh extend belakang rumah akak... sehingga maximum.. cuma tinggalkan agak agak sekaki jarak dari sempadan belakang. make sure.. gutter tu pun terletak dalam jarak sekaki tu...."

I was smiling .. as it should not be a problem for me.....

Bila my time ....

" Abang nak extend umah berapa kaki kebelakang? "

"20 kaki je....... tak banyak.. ade lagi 10 kaki ke sempadan belakang"

"Huh?.. umah aper tu.... betul ker? ade 30 kaki tanah kat belakang?...... umah teres 2 tingkat intermediate kan?

"Yup.... ade 30 kaki kat belakang....."

" Betul ke bang.. abang ukur ke... Contractor yang ukur?


HUH ????? ..

ape kayu pengukur contractor tu lebih accurate dari tape pengukur yang aku beli ni ker? Weyyyy... walaupun I bought tape made in CHINA. and the contractor punya cop STANLEY.............. ukuran die SAME laaaaa !!!! 1 kaki tetap 1 kaki tetap 12 inci.....

AGGGHHHH truly insulting question...................


"Saya ukur sendiri la.... belum ambik contractor lagi....."

" OOOOooo kalau camtu.. abang tak boleh guna "Standard Plan" ni........ abnag tak boleh beli pun buku untuk Standard Plan ni...... kena Submit plan yang dibuat oleh Arkitek.. berdaftar..."

"Aikkk tadi kater ... boleh extend maximum - cume tinggal 1 kaki je dari sempadan.... saya tinggal kan 10 kaki tu...... "


"Abng jgn marah ye... the regulation is for the "Standard house"....... biasanyer rumah teres 2 tingkat ade maximum 10 kaki je kebelakang.... Umah abang ade 30 kaki... so tak leh pakai standard plan..'

PULAK..... !!!!

wasted my off day to MBSA only to be told.... "Cari Arkitek berdaftar..submit plan..."


Aghhhh......... there must be other way.......!!!!

"Ade.. abg buat surat rayuan...la.... kater nak guna std Plan ...."


OK la..... surat rayuan surat rayuan la......


OFF I GO....... nak carik... penulis surat rayuan la pulak........


Hu hu hu... "Dengan ini saya merayu... bla..bla bla....."
